Thursday, 02 February 2012: It’s not every day that you receive a call from a National Radio station with 4.8 million listeners informing you of the success of your single and immediately summoning you to a radio interview.
Well this fantasy can true this morning when the vernacular rapper OZ - The Direct Translator received such a call and was invited for an urgent interview on uMhlobo Wenene FM.
uMhlobo Wenene FM is a national radio station that broadcasts to Xhosa speaking and understanding people and is the second biggest radio station in South Africa with 4.8 million listeners. The slogan for the radio station is "You've Got a Friend at 88 - 106 FM" and it appears the listeners did find themselves a friend in OZ’s music. OZ's latest single eTHEKWINI has cought the compilers attantion and is receiving enormous airplay on the radio station. During and after the show he received more than 100 friend requests and a multitude of positive feedback on his songs.
